Inspired Gifting ~ The Wrapping Room

Fun wrapping room from House to Home.

What a happy little spot this is! Everyone in my life from my mom and my college roommates to my co-workers and husband know that, “when I grown up” I want a wrapping room. What is a wrapping room, you ask? Well, it’s just what it sounds like..it is a creative nook where a cute little redhead can wrap presents in sheer bliss while Snow White’s bluebirds chirp in the background. Or, for you non-Irish, non-delusional, non-Disney loving women {wow, I hate to say it, but you don’t sound very fun…only kidding!}, it is a room or space where you can wrap presents and do other fun crafts. It’s like your own happy place, filled with bright colors and perfectly placed storage.

Today I share with you a picture of one of my favorite wrapping rooms from UK’s House to Home magazine. Last night as I was combing through my newest J. Crew catalog {fuschia driving loafers, zippy stripped blazers, and printed pencil skirts ~ Jenna Lyons you do me so good!} I stumbled across a little article that was right up my alley. Here is an excerpt of “Initial Here ~ Everything You Wanted to Know About Monogramming” by Glenn O’Brien, author of The Style Guy and fashion columnist for GQ:

“With more than seven billion people on the planet, you have to make an effort to be somebody or else you’ll fail on Facebook, get dropped on Twitter. Your name may be forgotten, your number lost. The solution to identity in an age of teeming masses is setting yourself apart stylistically.

Consider the venerable monogram ~ it’s a traditional nicety that has long been a mark of personal style. Today’s monogram consists of three letters: the initials of your first, middle and last names. I did the math and thought that there were more than 2.5 trillion possible permutations of three letters in our 26-letter alphabet, meaning it’s about as unique as your DNA. Then the math guy said it’s only 17, 576. That’s still pretty exclusive.
