Wedding Wednesday: Blissful Inspiration ~ The Runway Edition

Salutations Wedding Stationery Runway

This week we are excited to feature some beautiful designer gowns in our runway edition of Blissful Inspiration! Twice a year in New York, every major bridal gown designer presents runway collections. It is then that the editors of all the major bridal magazines are able to forecast major trends not just in bridal fashion, but in the industry as a whole.

We love Bridal Fashion Week because we can forecast major trends in wedding stationery based on the hottest looks from the runway. This is our roundup of favorite looks from this fall’s runways, and the wedding invitations we think match up perfectly.

Salutations Wedding Stationery Bridal Runways

We are completely smitten with this Heidi Elnora gown (above)! The silhouette and lace detail give this gown a classic feel, while the subtle addition of color and enormous bow add drama. We love this gown most because it is season-less and would work well in so many different ceremony locations! It represents the classic-with-a-side-of-unexpected-drama trend.

Salutations Wedding Stationery Dauphine Press Letterpress Invitation

We would recommend this fabulous letterpress invitation by Dauphine Press (above, available at Salutations) to the bride drawn to this dress/trend. The Kentfield design is classic and timeless, but like the dress, the second color and graphic details add an unexpected twist.

This gown by Ines Di Santo (above) is absolutely breathtaking! It is contemporary and sleek with a nod to romance. The shape of the gown is very modern, but the addition of lace, especially around the neckline, adds a romantic touch. We also love that this gown puts a unique spin on the very popular mermaid style. It represents the contemporary-meets-romance trend.

Salutations Wedding Stationery Bella Figura Letterpress Invitation

We would recommend this stunning letterpress invitation by Bella Figura (above, available at Salutations) to the bride in love with this dress/trend. The fonts and negative space on this Dolce design are contemporary, but like the dress, the hint of floral detail adds a romantic twist.

This gown by celebrity favorite, Claire Pettibone (above), is absolutely jaw-dropping! The look is both contemporary and romantic, and could work just as well for a bride getting married on the beach as it could for a bride getting married in a garden. We are especially taken by its outwardly feminine details, like the intricate lacework and hints of pink. It represents the kissed-by-intricate-feminine-details trend.

Salutations Wedding Stationery Vera Wang Pink Invitation

We would recommend this folder invitation by Vera Wang (above, available at Salutations) to the bride drawn to this dress/trend. The feminine details, including the laser-cut mesh lace and embossed flowers are exquisitely designed. They are such that this invitation works equally well for a daytime church wedding in the spring, or a dramatic pink, tented candlelit wedding on a summer’s eve.

Overall, the biggest trends from the fall runways revolve around details. Search for those that inform and extend your overall wedding theme. We hope that this runway breakdown has inspired you to find the wedding runway trends you love and incorporate them in your wedding stationery!
